NEW YORK — The NYPD officer who shot and killed the suspect in the fatal shooting of two fellow officers in Harlem last month was promoted on Tuesday to detective.

Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell shared video from the ceremony on Twitter, calling the actions of Sumit Sulan heroic.

Sulan responded to the call along with Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora.

The suspect opened fire, killing Rivera and Mora.

Both were posthumously promoted to detective at their funerals.

Sulan was given shield #332, symbolizing the three officers from the 32nd precinct.
