BROOKLYN, N.Y. — One firefighter and two residents are recovering from injuries after a two-alarm fire broke out Monday night inside a Brooklyn home.

All are expected to be okay.

The FDNY says the fire broke out around 6 p.m. inside the four-story residence located at 126 Hall Street in Clinton Hill.

State Attorney General Letitia James was on scene because she says one of her former staffers was the owner of the property.

"A former staff member who worked for me as the public advocate for the City of New York unfortunately her house was burned. and there are no serious injuries. her husband was taken to Cornell burn unit for smoke inhalation but he will recover. She's fine and the tenants are fine," James said.

The FDNY says one resident was transported to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Another resident who suffered minor injuries refused treatment at the scene. 

The FDNY says one firefighter was transported to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell with minor injuries. 

A dog was also rescued from the fire and treated by EMS.

The FDNY says heavy clutter conditions slowed firefighters' efforts to search the building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
