BRONX, N.Y. - Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision that killed a pedestrian on a Bronx street Tuesday morning.

Investigators say the woman was hit around 6:30 a.m. near the corner of Willis Avenue and 138th Street in Mott Haven.

She suffered severe injuries to her body, and died at the scene.

Police are now searching for the silver vehicle that hit her, and the driver who left her to die.

"I think they need like bumps or something through this way 'cause it don't make no sense that people are getting hit and getting killed, especially an old lady like that," said one passerby at the scene.

Police have not released the name or age of the woman who died.
