Cloudy Days Ahead: As a storm system stalls off to our west, we’ll see lots of clouds and possibly a few stray showers from time to time as we begin the new week. Overall, things will stay dry through mid-week but some rain does look likely by Friday. The rain may linger into early Saturday.

Below Average Temperatures: Our average high for this time of year is 71 degrees. We’ll remain slightly below that for the next work week in NYC. Highs will range from the low to mid-60s. It’s not until late week when temperatures slowly begin to moderate.

Watching the Tropics: Tropical Storm Arthur formed as of 11 p.m. Saturday evening. Arthur is the first named storm of the year. The official start to the hurricane season is June 1st. This is the 6th year in a row that we’ve had a named storm before the official start to hurricane season. Good news is the storm is expected to slowly move northward over the next several days before turning out to sea and away from NYC. Our team of meteorologists here at NY1 will keep an eye on this storm as it progresses.
