THE BRONX — Authorities have made an arrest in connection with a fatal stabbing aboard an MTA bus in the Bronx Sunday night.

Ebony Jackson, 42, was charged with murder and manslaughter in connection with the incident, according to the NYPD. Police added that they are still looking for another suspect in connection with the case.

The incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of East 149th St and Gerard Ave., according to the NYPD.

Police said the victim, 55-year-old Lamont Barkley, was involved in a dispute with a female and a male on the bus shortly before the attack took place.

Authorities said the two people stabbed Barkley multiple times in the torso and then fled on foot before police arrived at the scene.

EMS responded to the location and transported Barkley to NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln in the Bronx, where he was pronounced dead.

Police later said the “victim and suspects may have known each other.”

An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
