Firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze in the Bronx after a garbage fire spread to a two-story commercial building shortly after 7 p.m. Friday, authorities say.

According to fire officials, the fire broke out on Tremont Avenue and Randall Avenue and spread to multiple nearby buildings.

The FDNY says eight civilians suffered minor injuries, as well as one firefighter.

Over 130 firefighters worked to put out the flames, which the FDNY says was under control just before 9 p.m.

The Red Cross says it is responding to the scene and will provide updates once they have more information on assitance.
