NEW YORK — The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says the W line is running again, meaning service has been restored to all subway lines that were affected by the omicron surge.

The MTA had made service changes to several lines because of COVID-related staffing shortages.

The W line was the last one to be restored.

Last Wednesday, the MTA restored service to the B, Z, J, 6 and 7 Express and Rockaway Park "A" Train.

This comes as ridership on subways has increased.

The MTA says on January 13 subway ridership was at about 2.5 million, the highest since the omicron surge started just before Christmas.
