TMZ reported the threat was made to the home of one of Stahl’s immediate relatives on the West Coast.

CBS has hired guards to monitor the homes of the CBS News correspondent and her family members and to escort them when they go out in public, the website reported.

The death threat was reported to the Los Angeles Police Department at 9 a.m. Thursday, TMZ reported. The caller directed the threat toward Stahl and her family and also said something about neo-Nazis, according to the report.

The LAPD is reportedly investigating the threat.

Trump cut short the interview with Stahl, which was recorded Oct. 20 and aired Sunday on “60 Minutes,” because he was apparently frustrated with her line of questioning. Stahl pressed the president on his response to the coronavirus pandemic and pushed back on some of his dubious claims.

Shortly after walking out of the interview, Trump tweeted a brief video of Stahl at the White House without a mask — CBS says she only took it off for the interview — and then threatened to release his own video of the conversation, which he did two days later, the same day the death threat was allegedly made.

The president accused “60 Minutes” of “bias, hatred and rudeness” on social media and complained about the interview at his rallies last week.
