Former Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant has died in a helicopter crash Sunday in Calabasas, Calif., sources confirmed to multiple media outlets.
The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department tweeted that five people were confirmed dead in the crash at 11:25 a.m. PST. There were no survivors.
According to ESPN Senior NBA Insider, Adrian Wojnarowski, Bryant was on his way to a travel basketball game with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna when the helicopter went down. Passengers on board included another player and parent.
New York basketball stars, both former and current, have taken to social media to convey an outpouring of emotion.
