Police are searching for the man they say shot and killed another man in Manhattan earlier this week, and shocking new surveillance video shows the alleged shooter pointing a rifle at pedestrians.

Police say the victim was walking his dog when he was allegedly shot by a man on 146th street and Amsterdam Avenue in Hamilton Heights.

It happened just before 2:30 a.m. Monday morning, according to the NYPD.

Police say the shooter pointed the rifle at another passerby, who ignored him.

The man then fired a shot that missed the passerby and hit the 40-year-old victim in the leg, according to police.

The victim was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital.

The shooter was last seen running westbound on 146th street.

Police say the suspect is between 18 to 25-years-old, approximately 5'8" to 5'10", and was last seen wearing a red-hooded sweater, a blue jacket, gray sweatpants, and black and white sneakers.
