CLAYTON, N.Y. – With many students missing much of the last school year, and many more learning remotely or being homeschooled this year, the need for tutors continues to grow.

The Depauville Free Library in Jefferson County offers a tutoring program for students facing those difficulties.

Students are able to get extra help on a variety of subjects, including reading and math. Those providing the tutoring recognize the world the current state of the world, and are working to make sure students don’t fall through the cracks.

"I am glad that the school districts around here were able to open and that the kids are able to go, but there are still some kids that because of those months that were lost, they feel like they are still trying to catch up," said Depauville Library Tutor Anita James.

The Depauville Free Library is now accepting donations to keep this tutoring program alive and to help purchase supplies.

Every dollar it brings in will be matched up to $2,000 by the Northern New York Community.
