Medical professionals who volunteered in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria get a special thank you in Queens.

The Medisys Health Network welcomed back 20 volunteers Friday. The volunteers were from Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and Flushing Hospital Medical Center.

The team was stationed in San Juan and other parts of the Island for two weeks.

The doctors, nurses and physician assistants set up pop-up medical clinics and helped at federal medical shelters.

They say even though conditions weren't easy, they were glad they got to chip in.

All of the volunteers received a certificate of appreciation from the Borough President’s office.
