Thanks to one non-profit, Queens families in need will have food on their tables for Passover.

The Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty delivered Kosher food to the Kehilat Sephardim of Ahavat Achim Center Thursday. The center is a food pantry and also offers social services to those in the community.

Organizers say Passover is a special time for Jewish families and all should be able to celebrate.

“This is a time where families get together, and this makes a big help for people who are struggling financially,” said Rabbi Shlomo Nisanov of Kehilat Sephardim of Ahavat Achim. “It's big to know we are able to help them in any means and fashion possible.”

“For them to be able to sit down with their family and have food for their meals makes us feel wonderful and we enjoy doing it,” added Aaron Cyperstein with the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty.

Passover begins this Friday at Sunset and ends Saturday, April 30th.
