The 12th annual Queens Restaurant Week is now underway and continues through October 29th. NY1's Angi Gonzalez filed this report on some of the spots showcasing their food for a fixed price.

"There's so much good food in Queens, Restaurant Week actually lasts 14 days," Director of The Queens Tourism Council Rob MacKay said of the event which kicked off October 12th and continues through October 29th.

La Adelita Mexican Restaurant on Roosevelt Avenue in Woodside is just one of the nearly 200 restaurants taking part in this year's Queens Restaurant Week.

"It’s a great time to try a new restaurants if you've been looking at on," MacKay added.

Managers at La Adelita Restaurant are certainly taking advantage of the event.

"We have our new menu coming out and we have one of the dishes to try," said Cynthia Shephard, a Manager at La Adelita Restaurant.

The offers at each restaurant vary, but many of the restaurants participating are offering a meal at a flat fee.

For the restaurants offering from a fixed price menu, lunch is $14 and dinner is $28.

At La Adelita, that price will also get you a glass of wine or a beer and some dedicated time with family or friends

"This is not the fast casual , you get the food right away. Everything they do it from scratch," Shepard said of the restaurant’s service.

Even more established chain restaurants like Bare Burger are taking part in Queens Restaurant Week.

The owners at the franchise in Long Island City say they're excited to get to the client base they haven’t reached.

Bare Burger is a growing company and people are aware of it  but it’s amazing how many people have yet to try it," said Chris Crouch, a Partner and Manager at the Bare Burger in Long Island City.

Beyond that, Crouch says it’s important for Bare Burger to get to know the community it serves.

The restaurant just moved into Long Island City less than a year ago.

"We got a lot of people to meet in the neighborhood and so this can only help to introduce ourselves to more and more of the neighborhood," Crouch said.

The Bare Burger in Long Island City only recently decided to participate and plans to offer a special for 2 people for $28.

For that price customers will get 2 sodas, 1 onion ring or french fry combo, 4 sliders (beef, turkey or vegetarian) prepared in the "standard" way and 1 slice of either apple or blueberry pie with a scoop of their organic vanilla ice cream.

The location will only offer the deal from Monday through Thursday beginning on the 19th and ending on the 29th of October.

Foodies in almost every part of Queens can find a restaurant taking part in the event.

Organizers say 32 neighborhoods and 50 different types of ethnic cuisine are represented among the event's participants.
