COHOES, N.Y. -- A now-former Cohoes Little League coach faces child pornography possession charges following a federal investigation.

34-year-old George Muzio Jr. was arrested Tuesday by the Department of Homeland Security.

During their investigation, they learned Muzio was a little league coach. Cohoes police say he has resigned from that position.

"I know for his own health and welfare he's resigned from his coaching position; to really be at home with his family. So he can take care of them and they can take care of him," said his attorney, Lee Kindlon. "Really that's his highest priority right now."

Authorities said they don't believe Muzio knows any of the victims in the material.

"There's been no allegation and no substantiated proof that he's had any contact with any children whatsoever," said Kindlon.

Muzio is being held in the Rensselaer County jail and is scheduled to appear in federal court for a bond hearing on May 9th.

The Cohoes Little League said in a statement, "We have no reason to believe any children in our program have been affected. We will continue to provide a family fun atmosphere at Cohoes Little League. Our concern goes out to the family. Mr. Muzio has been suspended from all league activities effective immediately. We will continue to cooperate fully with this investigation."
