Six people, including two young children, are recovering after they were hit by a car that jumped a curb in Washington Heights, according to the NYPD.

The NYPD says the driver lost control of the vehicle around 6 p.m. Wednesday at Broadway and West 190th Street.

The car hit four adults along with a 2-year-old child and a 3-year-old child before plowing into R G Ortiz Funeral Home.

Police say the 34-year-old woman behind the wheel initially ran from the scene, but later returned and was taken into custody.

They also say the car was stolen, but it's not clear if the driver, who claimed to police that she is homeless, is the person who stole it.

Charges against the driver are pending.
