Four men are dead and at least three others are hurt in Brooklyn after a shooting outside of what police suspect is an illegal gambling club.

It happened around 7 this morning on Utica Avenue near Michael Griffith Street in Crown Heights.

Police have not revealed how many people were gambling in the unlicensed event space or whether a dispute led to the shooting.

Gang-related activity has been ruled out by investigators.

They do believe there was more than one shooter, with two firearms being recovered at the scene.

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams mentioned that this was the third mass shooting the community has seen since this summer. He says the city needs to go further in trying get guns off the streets.

"How do we resolve conflict? How do we resolve conflicts in communities such as Crown Heights and Brownsville? Conflicts are being resolved with gun violence. At the heart of this is how we're resolving conflict. They're belief is we have to look out how we resolve conflict, my issue is to deal with the over proliferation of guns," said Adams.

The four deceased victims, all men, range in age from 32 to 49.

The surviving victims were taken to a nearby hospital.

People are being questioned by police.
