A new cafe has opened inside a local library but it's offering more than just food. It's providing jobs for refugees.

Emma's Torch opened the cafe in the Brooklyn Public Library's main branch.

The non profit trains refugees to work in the culinary industry to help them build lives in the community.

"We tell our students every day, we want you here, your welcomed, but we can say that until we're blue in the face; but seeing the reception from the library community and seeing how valued they are, that people want to buy coffee from them and cookies from them that sends a real message home," said Executive Director Kerry Brodie.

The cafe is open Monday thru Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
