Some New Yorkers didn't waste any time to treating their special someone to a unique Valentine's Day experience this weekend.

The Department of Environmental Protection is once again treating lovers and eco-friendly enthusiasts to a romantic tour of their Newtown Creek plant, including its large digester eggs.

The center  is the city's largest wastewater treatment facility serving about a one million residents.

Visitors learned about how the City treats water - and got a special look at the city skyline at the top of the digester eggs .

Pam Elardo, Deputy Commissioner, NYCDEP, Bureau of Wastewater Treatment says "I think it's just a time of appreciation and reflection and, for me personally, it's important to just love the infrastructure, the world around us, how healthy it is, and how much we can appreciate it in deeper and deeper ways; and this is a big part of it."

The Valentine's Day tours filled up pretty quickly, but there are other tours held throughout the year.
