A popular South African restaurant in Brooklyn that was planning shutting down won't be closing its doors after all.

Madiba Owner Mark Henegan says a crowd fundraising effort will allow the restaurant to stay in business.

The eatery on DeKalb Avenue in Fort Greene pays tribute to former South African President Nelson Mandela.

Henegan said they were able to raise more than $30,000 through the crowdfunding website Indiegogo.

He also said he was also able to work out the rent with the landlord so the restaurant could stay in the neighborhood.

Madiba has been open since 1999.
