Tucked away in the small village of Woodridge, you'll find Tony's Family Restaurant, which has bounced back from a disaster over 10 years ago.

"I had a fire in 2004 and I was closed for one year. But I'm very, very happy the village was and anybody I know was helping me to get back to the business. I really put my heart into the business. And I'm getting what I deserve. I am very lucky to be here in Woodridge," said Tony Abo Hussien, the owner and head chef.

Diners who frequent the establishment enjoy the eclectic menu and decor that feature something for everyone.

"We have sweet and sour stuffed cabbage, I have brisket of beef, Hungarian Goulash, stuffed pork chops, stuff breast of veal.  All this stuff is homemade. I try very hard to put heart in the food, like anybody else. And I'm glad the customer appreciates it," said Abo Hussien.

Its influences are entrenched in an old world style of cooking.

"Jewish cooking, old fashioned cooking. We make three kinds of pierogis. We make homemade blintzes. The crepe, everything is from scratch. The blintz and pierogis are very big here in the restaurant. I have people come from everywhere to have the homemade blintzes, which I have three kinds," said Abo Hussien.

Mostly, the staff and family just wants you to feel like you never left the driveway.

"To feel home. That's the whole thing. I feel home here in Woodridge and I want the customer to feel the exact same way that I do here," said Abo Hussien.
