The heaviest rains are over for the city, but another round of rain and wind is expected.

What You Need To Know

  • 2 to 4 inches of rain have fallen

  • Strong winds will develop overnight

  • Watch for leftover flooding

It was a stormy start to the day, with widespread street and highway flooding. Up to 4 inches of rain were reported. Park Slope had the most rain. In Central Park, the rain totals were just over 2 inches.

The rains have eased, but watch for leftover flooding. Passing rounds of rain will continue overnight, but they won't be as intense as the downpours we had this morning.

The storm will also bring us strong winds. Gusts around 40 mph are possible. Scattered downed trees are possible. Be alert, especially near construction sites. Dry weather will return on Wednesday.
