A plan to link an AirTrain with LaGuardia Airport is moving forward.
Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed legislation establishing a route for the new AirTrain.
It will run out of Willets Point, which links to the 7 train and the Long Island Rail Road.
The governor says the AirTrain is vital for reducing traffic.
"How can you not have a rail train to the city from a New York airport? I mean, it's just incomprehensible, right? So this component, in and of itself, is very important," Cuomo said.
Construction is expected to begin in 2020 and be finished in 2022.
