NYPD officials say a Brooklyn high school student has been shot for the second time this week.

Sources tell NY1 the most recent victim attends Lincoln High School.

“How I feel? It’s terrible, disgusting,” said Kira Gleyzer, who was visiting her husband at a hospital when she heard the news.

According to police, the 17-year-old male victim was not far from Lincoln High School shortly after 1 p.m. Friday near Neptune Avenue and Ocean Parkway when he was shot in the stomach.

Bystanders, including other students, could be seen standing around the victim in the street.

Police describe the shooting suspect as a male wearing a sweatshirt, black pants and a black backpack. It’s unclear how old the suspect is.

Friday’s shooting comes two days after NYPD officials say a 15-year-old male was killed from being shot in the abdomen Wednesday afternoon at McLaughlin Park in Brooklyn.

“I was just working and I heard a big boom noise,” said Shaquanna Thompson.

That student was pronounced dead from his injuries.

“It's always a concern with the return to school,” said NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig. “We see that the shooting victims, the shooting perpetrators, younger and younger and it's a great concern to us."

Some neighbors near the site of Friday’s shooting in Coney Island said the presence of law enforcement does not appear to be deterring gun violence.

“Although they have the safety persons, I just don't think its enough,” said Reverend Jordan. “They call it school safety, and I'm thinking that it's just not enough.”

That is only adding to feelings of worry and unease.

“How could the people shot each other? How?” Gleyzer said.

Police say the 17-year-old victim in Friday’s shooting is expected to survive. No arrests have been made in connection to the Coney Island shooting.
