Dozens of sneakers hit the pavement in Upper Manhattan Sunday morning.

A large group of runners ran with the purpose of keeping alive the memory of Detectives Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora who were killed in the line of duty last January.

“Jason knew his purpose was to bridge the gap between the community and the NYPD,” said Eloy Suarez, an NYPD officer with the NYPD Runners group who came to show their support Sunday.

The Dyckman Run Club was hosting its 2nd Annual 5K Memorial Walk and Run in the fallen officers' honor.

“Jason Rivera, he was very special, one of our original members when we first started. This northern Manhattan community. Never had a run club when we first launched. We had three people and Jason,” said Elvin Adame, the cofounder of Dyckman Run Club.

Rivera grew up in Upper Manhattan and was one of the first members of the uptown running group.

Rivera’s widow and his parents were among those present for the event Sunday, as well as officers from the 32nd Precinct where Mora and Rivera worked.

Those who knew Rivera say this showing of unity would make the fellow runner proud.

“He’s up there right now smiling down at us like, ‘man, I’m not here now, like today. But this is what I did. Like, I brought I brought everyone together,’” said Edward Montas, a cofounder of the Dyckman Run Club.
