Tom Suozzi was in Times Square Friday to pick up an endorsement from the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, local one. 

So far, most of the union endorsements have gone to Gov. Hochul.

  • Gov. Hochul raised $10 million over the last four months, compared to Her opponent, Tom Suozzi, who raised $4 million

  • Suozzi picked up the endorsement of the Theatrical  Stage Workers Union, although most union endorsements have gone to Hochul

  • Suozzi also released his tax returns after initially refusing

“Now my opponent in this race has a lot of endorsements from the organizations that are a coalition of the unions, but I can guarantee you, based upon my Twin Hall meetings, based upon my polling, based upon my conversations every single day with New Yorkers, the rank and file are with me,” Suozzi said. 

Suozzi also released new fundraising totals. In the last four months, he has raised $3.8 million, spent $6.3 million, and is sitting on $2.7 million cash on hand.

By comparison, Gov. Kathy Hochul has brought in $10.1 million since Jan., spent just over $13 million and currently has $18.5 million in cash on hand.

“I don’t have the benefit of doing business with all these people who do business with New York state. She is getting money from every cannabis provider, every license seeker, getting money from every developer, getting money from every nursing home owner. I’m getting money from people who support my campaign,” Suozzi said.

Suozzi also released his tax returns, after Initially saying he would not. According to his returns, he made more than $360,000 last year in taxable income, which includes financial investments and his $150,000 salary as a member of Congress. 

“It’s not that exciting. It’s complicated. You’ll have to decide whether it’s exciting,” quipped Suozzi.

Jumaane Williams is the third candidate running for governor. We asked him for both fundraising numbers and for a look at his tax returns, but the campaign did not get back to us.
