The City's annual Dominican Day Parade will not happen on Fifth Avenue Sunday due to the pandemic, but organizers are taking the festivities online this year for a virtual celebration.

The event will start at 1 p.m. Sunday with a one-hour presentation highlighting Dominican spirit.

It will also honor first responders who have made a positive impact during the pandemic.

The central announcement of 30 scholarships for students will be bookended by performances from artists.

More than 800,000 Dominicans call the city home.

This year would have been the 38th annual parade celebrating Dominican culture.
