NEW YORK - Some Times Square billboards went dark Wednesday night to show support for businesses struggling to survive the pandemic.

Billboards in the area of 47th Street and Seventh Avenue went black for one minute.

It was followed by a video that included messages from business leaders and celebrities.

They called on insurance companies and the federal government to offer relief for companies trying to stay afloat.

More than 100 million LED pixels were darkened during the display.
