NEW YORK - The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says its workforce is recovering and, as a result, subway service should start getting back on track.
More than 5,000 MTA employees have returned to work.

More than 4,000 are still in quarantine.
Since the pandemic started, nearly 3,000 workers have tested positive for COVID-19.
At least 79 MTA employees have died from the virus.
The transit agency established a fund to provide $500,000 to the families of deceased workers.
