NEW YORK - Crews are working to repair a water main break that flooded the streets in Morningside Heights during the Friday morning rush.

It happened at 111th Street and Broadway, turning the street into a river.

Fire officials say it all started around 8:30 a.m. outside 2871 Broadway.

A portion of Broadway has been closed to cars, so that crews can work to shut the main off and assess the damage.

The MTA says southbound 1 trains are running at slower speeds near 110the Street as crews inspect equipment following the water main break.
