Cold temperatures didn't stop New Yorkers from taking to the streets Saturday for the fourth annual Women's March.

This year's theme was "Rise and Roar."

Thousands of demonstrators rallied near Columbus Circle before marching down to 43rd Street between Broadway and 6th Avenue.

Participants described their pride in being part of a movement that aimed to raise awareness about several issues, including sexism, immigration, and reproductive rights.

A big emphasis was made on the need to turn more women out to vote this year.

"The beautiful thing about this march is, we get to talk about things and issues concerning women. Pay equity, discrimination against age and gender," said one person at the march. "I think it's great to come together despite our differences and fight for what's right. It's so important that we cannot lie down on what's happening in our country, and we hope that it continues forever because we can't be lazy in a democracy."

Another group of demonstrators rallied in Foley Square.

The first Women's March took place in 2017, the day after President Donald Trump's inauguration.
