The MTA is ordering the Erie County Clerk to stop using its trademark slogan "If you see something, say something.”

That's because the agency says it's being used to target undocumented immigrants.

The MTA sent a cease and desist to Michael Kearns in response to this sign.

It's asking members of the public to report suspected undocumented immigrants to U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement.

The MTA says the sign is part of a campaign targeting immigrants applying for driver licenses under the new Green Light Law, which goes into effect this weekend.

The MTA says this is "an abhorrent use" of the agency's trademarked slogan.

"See something, say something" was created by the MTA in the aftermath of the September 11th terrorist attacks to promote safety and security in the transit system.
