Most 16-year-olds are focused on their high school schedules and getting their driver licenses. But one teen is a world champion swimmer whose next event will take her 28 miles around Manhattan, all for a good cause.

Angel More has raised more then $58,000 for Children International, a nonprofit focused on ending poverty for young people around the world.

It's part of her two-year campaign called Angel's Hope, in which she hopes to raise $1 million for Children International.

More was one of the youngest people to climb Mount Kilimanjaro at age 10.

Once she began receiving media attention for her swimming at age 11, she says she wanted to turn the focus towards something more meaningful.

Now, she will be the youngest woman to attempt the 28-mile swim around Manhattan.

"First, it just seems so cool. Like, I love New York, I live in California, so going to the other coast and just seeing all the lights is so pretty. So I really, I'm just in awe of New York, so going around Manhattan will be super cool," More said.

Angel's swim is this Saturday, August 17. She'll take off at 9:05 a.m. from Pier A in Battery Park.
