NEW YORK - A taxi driver is under arrest after allegedly hitting and killing a pedestrian in Manhattan on Thursday.

Daniel Fusaro, 82, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to yield to a pedestrian.

Police say he struck 77-year-old Iris Crespo at West 22nd Street and Eighth Avenue in Chelsea.

Investigators say after hitting the woman, Fusaro kept driving before hitting a parked car.

Medical crews rushed her to the hospital where she died from her injuries.
