If you are a fan of sunny weather, you'll want to get outside and enjoy the sunshine Thursday or Friday.   A cloudy and wet forecast is ahead starting this weekend through much of next week.

You'll need a jacket if you're outside Thursday enjoying the sunshine.  Cooler air moving into North Carolina will keep temperatures in the 40s for much of the day.  Afternoon highs wil briefly top out around 50 to the low 50s between 3 and 4pm.

Clear skies Thursday night will allow lows to drop to the upper 20s and low 30s by sunrise Friday morning.

Friday's sunshine will warm highs in the mid and upper 50s in the Triangle and to near 60 in the Sandhills.

Rain will return to central North Carolina by early Saturday morning.  We will then see off and on rain through the weekend.  Around one to two inches of rain now looks likely from Saturday to Sunday.

Off and on rain chances may then continue into much of next week.
