Governor Andrew Cuomo is leading a team of key emergency response officials to Puerto Rico to help with the reconstruction of the island's power grid.
Cuomo is traveling Friday morning with engineers, translators, drones and drone pilots.
Their plane will also deliver emergency supplies.
In addition, the state's National Guard is on standby to go to the island in the coming days.
This comes after Ricardo Roselló, the governor of Puerto Rico, asked Cuomo for help.
