Two Brooklyn streets honoring Confederate generals from the Civil War won't see their names changed any time soon.
General Lee Avenue and Stonewall Jackson Drive are both part of Fort Hamilton, meaning they fall under the Army's jurisdiction and not the city's.
But according to a local congresswoman, the Army Department has refused her request to have their names changed.
Yvette Clarke says she is disappointed by the decision.
She says she will continue the fight to have the roads renamed.
Fort Hamilton is not actually a part of Clarke's district. It is part of Rep. Dan Donovan's district.
NY1 has reached out to Donovan for comment.
