With Election Day less than two weeks away, candidates for federal, state and local offices are making their final push to voters.

Among those is Republican candidate for New York state comptroller Paul Rodriguez, who joined Pat Kiernan on “Mornings On 1” Thursday to explain why he is running against incumbent Tom DiNapoli.

“We have rising crime and rapid corruption and under entrench one-party rule, our political class in Albany doesn't really feel beholden to its voters or feel accountable in any way,” Rodriguez said. “I think it's high time we need to make some serious changes, not just in the comptroller's office, but across the leadership of the state.”

The two also touched on Rodriguez thoughts on the primary objective of the comptroller’s office, his ties to other members of the GOP and more.
