Council member Joe Borelli joined Mornings On 1 to speak on issues facing his district 51, which encompasses the South Shore of Staten Island. The district is the city's most conservative.

He talked speed camera initiatives, while addressing his own speeding tickets, his opposition to bail reform, and defended his decision to attend his borough's controversial St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Speaking on his five parking tickets, Borelli said that while he won't attend a safe driving class, he knows he has to lighten up on the gas pedal. On bail reform, the council member explained that efforts were falsely advertised.

Borelli also said he will attend the St. Patrick's Day parade on Sunday despite many dropping out from marching due to the event denying LGBTQ groups from participating. Borelli said he won't be bullied out of attending just for positive press.
