Recovery efforts are ongoing following the deadly fires on the island of Maui.

President Joe Biden and the first lady are set to travel to Maui Monday to see the damage firsthand.

The state’s top utility, Hawaiian Electric, is the focus of a lawsuit alleging that downed power lines contributed to the spread.

Raya Salter, an energy justice attorney and former resident of Hawaii, joined NY1 political reporter Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Thursday to discuss the lawsuit and New York’s electric grid resiliency.

Salter is also a member of the New York state Climate Action Council and is the executive director of the Energy Justice Law & Policy Center.
