Gov. Kathy Hochul is renewing her push to build more affordable housing across New York.

On Thursday, she put the pressure on state lawmakers to help her administration address the issue before returning to session next January.

“I believe that the legislature has an opportunity, before we get back into session, to roll up their sleeves, overcome the resistance now that they see that constituents want this,” Hochul said. “They want affordability, they want to have new housing that will drive down the costs because it’s because of limited supply because the prices are so high. I don’t really get frustrated. I just get to work.”

Annemarie Gray, executive director of Open New York, joined NY1 political reporter Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” Friday to discuss Hochul’s housing push.

Gray previously served in city government, including as senior adviser on land use in the mayor’s office.
