The City Council passed legislation to increase access to housing vouchers. But Mayor Adams isn’t on board, saying there’s already a low vacancy rate in the city, and people seeking to transition out of shelters won’t be able to find housing.

Catherine Trapani, the executive director of the group Homeless Services United, joined Bobby Cuza on “Inside City Hall” to explain the legislation.

Trapani says the measure will help people move out of shelters and into housing faster, which would create more room for arriving migrants.
