A day after Rep. George Santos announced that he will be running for re-election, calls for him to resign were renewed.

Gerard Kassar, the chairman of the state’s Conservative Party, joined Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday night to talk about why he believes Santos should step down.

Santos is facing investigations in the wake a myriad of lies he told about his background while campaigning last year.

He currently represents parts of Queens and Nassau County, a seat that was previously held by Democrat Tom Suozzi.

Kassar explained why the party backed Santos during his first run, saying mistakes were made.

And as Gov. Kathy Hochul and legislative leaders negotiate the budget, Kassar also weighed in on what issues are top priority for his party.
