NEW YORK — Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday signed the "Less is More Act" into law. The parole reform legislation is expected to release 191 detainees from Rikers Island who are currently being held on non-criminal technical parole violations. This comes after weeks of mounting pressure from advocates and lawmakers who call the situation on Rikers a humanitarian crisis.

Tina Luongo — the Attorney-In-Charge of the Criminal Defense Practice at The Legal Aid Society, which sued the city Department of Correction on Thursday in an effort to obtain more information about the conditions inside — joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on "Inside City Hall" on Friday evening to talk about the governor's action and the crisis on Rikers.
