Brooklyn Councilmember Ari Kagan discussed the continued rise in antisemitic attacks.

According to the NYPD, antisemitic hate crimes have more than doubled in November 2022 from November 2021 — rising 125%.

Kagan talked about how the City Council is addressing the rise in hate and the work he’s doing to demand action for the Jewish community.

The councilmember explained how the current bail reform system and plea deals are fueling repeat offenders.

Emigrating to New York from Belarus in 1993, Kagan shared his story as the son of Holocaust survivors. He explained how it inspired him as a public servant and to fight against hate, racism and antisemitism.
