Bronx Councilmember Rafael Salamanaca Jr. and Beth Shapiro, executive director of Citymeals, discuss how organizations like Citymeals had to step up to the plate during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when homebound seniors needed them more than ever.

Last year, Citymeals on Wheels delivered meals to nearly 20,000 homebound New Yorkers in the five boroughs. Volunteer applications to Citymeals doubled compared to the year before. Salamanca explains what steps are being taken to help the city’s elders who lost so much during the pandemic.

Shapiro discusses the corporate partners lost during the pandemic and how you can get involved and help our homebound New Yorkers besides donating. All of public gifts to Citymeals are used for the preparation and delivery of meals for seniors.
