The summer heat brings mosquitoes.

And the Health Department is spraying for them over parts of the city this week.

Between today and Friday, helicopters will target marshy and other non-residential areas where mosquitos are known to breed.

In the Bronx, Pelham Bay Park North and South will be sprayed.

Areas targeted in Queens include the abandoned Flushing airport and Kissena Park, along with Alley Pond Park east of Bayside.

Further south, spraying will take place at Edgemere Park in Far Rockaway and Brookville Park.

In Brooklyn, Fresh Creek and Marine Park are targets.

Staten Island will get the most attention, with large sections of the borough marked for treatment.

Spraying will take place each day between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. weather permitting.
