More coronavirus restrictions are being lifted as cases continue to decrease and vaccinations increase across the state, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday.

Offices in New York will increase capacity from 50% to 75%. 

Casinos and gaming facilities can go from 25% to 50% occupancy.

Gyms outside of the city will go from operating at 33% capacity to 50%. In New York City, gym capacity remains at 33%.

Starting May 19, specatactor capacity outdoors can increase from 20% to 33%.

“The arrows are all pointing towards the right direction.” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said at a press briefing in Syracuse. “We have to stay smart, keep being responsible, keep our civic duty and we’ll keep reopening.”

The governor also announced Monday that the New York State Fair will return in August and will run for the full 18 days at 50% capacity. In 2020, the famous fair was cancelled because of COVID-19. 

“The fair must go on, and this year the fair will go on,” said Cuomo.

Over the past few weeks the governor has continued to ease restrictions and increase capacity limits for many attractions and businesses. Starting today, zoos, museums, and movie theaters are able to increase their capacity. 

Museums and zoos are now operating at 50% capacity, and movie theaters are operating at 33%.

Sports arenas will be able to increase occupancy starting May 19.
