The Real Estate Board of New York is issuing a 90-day moratorium on eviction warrants in the wake of the coronavirus epidemic.

REBNY announced the decision in a letter signed by its chairman, president, and more than two dozen building owners and managers.

It says it will only execute eviction warrants in cases of "criminal or negligent behavior that jeopardizes the life, health or safety of other residents."

The organization's members own and manage more than 150,000 apartment buildings in the city.
