On Tuesday, Empire Outlets announced a new specialty leasing program that will provide space for small businesses to set up a kiosk at the shopping center.

The company said, "With nearly 25,000 people passing through Empire Outlets daily, a custom-built retail kiosk at Empire Outlets will be sure to jump start any growing brand."

The program offers customizable retail kiosks with leases available in short term or flexible formats.

The company touted the kiosks as "an ideal platform for specialized product sales, launches, and test marketing".

BFC Partners said the specialty leasing program was designed to help businesses expand or establish an in-person retail presence and to build a bridge from online to in person experiences.

“Empire Outlets is home to iconic brands like Nordstrom and Nike, and now with our specialty leasing program, local Staten Island business owners and others looking to establish a physical retail presence will be able to do so with a flexible lease kiosks at one of New York City’s most shopped locations,” said Joseph Ferrara, principal of BFC Partners and developer of Empire Outlets. “This opportunity will provide an opportunity for local and emerging brands to enter the retail market with a more structured and efficient initial investment. Empire Outlets is committed to be a platform for emerging business, and the specialty leasing program proves just that, setting up business owners for a more permanent brick and mortar presence either on our property or any other location.”

“As always, BFC and Empire Outlets are setting the trend in innovative promotion for business,” said Cesar Claro, President and CEO of the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation. “SIEDC believes that the RMU is a great asset for Staten Island and we encourage our members and all small businesses to participate."
